🚀 What You'll Do

Lead the real-time data infrastructure and integrations: Drive technical discussions, identify architectural trade-offs, and design scalable, event-driven solutions. Set the standard for real-time data excellence.

Deliver high-impact solutions: Balance speed with maintainability, ensuring seamless performance for real-time and batch processing.

Be a hands-on wizard: Work alongside the team to solve complex problems, set technical standards, and mentor and be mentored.

Break down silos: Collaborate across domains to make informed design decisions that benefit the entire platform, from streaming to analytics.

Optimise for performance: Monitor and tune real-time pipelines to ensure reliability, low latency, and cost efficiency.

🕹️The Tech

Kafka is your playground: You design, build, and optimise real-time data pipelines using Kafka Streams, Connectors, and event-driven architectures.

Architect the new Event Publisher to power a seamless Omnichannel experience for our customers, supporting billions in GMV with unmatched resilience and scalability.

Python and SQL are your native languages, and you are at ease with Scala. Any additional language is a plus.

Real-time pipelines: You know when to build them, how to design them, and when to avoid them.

Streaming frameworks: Experience with Flink, Spark Streaming, or similar is a plus.

Data Modelling and Optimisation: You design efficient and scalable data models for real-time analytics.

DevOps and MLOps: You embrace automation, CI/CD, and monitoring to ensure seamless deployments (K8S on AWS).

BigQuery, Airflow and some GCP knowledge are big pluses too.

6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on real-time data processing, Kafka, and streaming architectures.

Proven track record of delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions in fast-paced environments.

Expertise in data modelling, real-time and batch architectures, data governance, and protection.

Deep understanding of modern software development practices (TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Deployment).

Strong architectural mindset: Lead discussions on trade-offs and drive well-considered solutions.

Excellent communicator: Explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
